You know, it sometimes actually does surprise me how rigid and boxed-in we tend to get in the way we view work-life. We get caught up in not-always-reliable tools to decide what people can do, like college degrees, CVs and number of years of work experience, and often forget to ask the most basic question: "Can this person do the job that needs to be done?"
After all, why should it matter what college you went to if it doesn't tell the full story of your true competence, and it is your competence that matters most!
Zerodha has given me a renewed perspective on this and it is giving us all hints on the general direction that hiring will take in the future. With online platforms becoming increasingly better equipped to showcase one's work, perhaps the world will take a turn for the better by going back to that basic question.
