Imagine you plant a seed. In the first year, it sprouts and grows a little, maybe knee-high. That's like simple interest in finance - you earn a return on your initial investment, like the plant growing from the seed. But here's the magic of COMPOUNDING: That first year's growth becomes part of the plant the next year. So, the next year, the plant isn't just growing on the original seed, it's also growing on the stem that grew the prior year. You earn interest not only on your original investment, but also on the interest you've already earned. So basically, this means your money grows faster over time. Which in turn translates to making the money work for you! Do you see how this could potentially change your perspective and relationship with money, for the better?#attitudemakeover #generationalperspectives #compoundinterest #financialgrowth #moneymagic #investingwisdom #wealthbuilding
Money. It makes the world go round, but for different generations, the way it spins can vary wildly. Presenting to you: Working, independent individuals – Nishmitha, Arthi, Amogh – in their early 20s, late 20s, mid 30s and yours truly (repping the 40s club!) We sit down to talk money, about our mindset and relationship in connection with it (and change, thereof). But why? Because we are mostly ready to take off, brand each generation with names, but we don’t tend to listen to people in different generational cohorts. We especially don’t talk to one another about money. And that’s a problem for everyone. And it creates a divide between our needs and desires, as individuals. This is an earnest (a tad bit experimental) attempt to share and set financial realities across age groups in perspective. STAY TUNED for more and don’t forget to subscribe!
Meditation is an Escape TO Reality | Ft. Khurshed Batliwala Hold that thought and say hello to my next guest - Bawa (@khurshedbatliwala). Khurshed Batliwala, fondly known as Bawa is a meditation teacher, wellness & sleep expert, prolific speaker, best-selling author and personal coach. Drawing on his own knowledge and experience, his engaging insights for us are a blend of science, meaning and actionable wisdom. Here’s something I found on his rather captivating X handle: “Meditating means you are giving 20-30 minutes each day to nourish the absolute core of your Being. From which everything else in your life manifests. Keep that part of you glowing bright and see how your life becomes the life you have always dreamed of living!” If you’ve guessed it right already, Bawa and I discuss the (hu)man and the mind, in every state of being. And what it takes to prioritise well-being, and “practice peace, cultivate calm and be happy.” STAY TUNED FOR MORE and subscribe to the Attitude Makeover YouTube channel now!
Imagine life in a bubble. Sure, it's familiar, but it limits our understanding of the world, doesn't it? Exposure -- through travel, meeting new people, or even stepping into new life experiences (like Vicky did by going to Ashoka University) -- introduces us to the variety the world has to offer. Beyond just knowledge, it brings us to different viewpoints and ways of living itself. This expands our perspective and challenges our assumptions, helping us grow as individuals. But here's another thought that I feel is necessary to share: Exposure isn't always about grand gestures. Stepping outside our comfort zone can even be as simple as striking up a conversation with someone new or taking a different route to work. The point is to know when we are stuck in the rut of routine. The acknowledgment that "we don't know it all and we don't even know enough" can take us very far on the exploration journey. Vicky's journey from Bengaluru and beyond is a testament to it! "If you want to connect with people, you need to know more" -- How many of you agree with this thought. Let me know in the comments below! Tune into the full episode and don't forget to hit the LIKE and SUBSCRIBE buttons while you are at it! #vickypedia #comedy #sars #attitudemakeover
The Inspiration Behind Naanu Nandini! A trivia you didn't know you needed: Bengaluru-famous Nandini is a character that was inspired by Vicky himself! He says he tried to encapsulate his initial days in the content that truly peaked in terms of 'virality'. In this conversation, he gives us more from his journey and how he's cracked the code of making things more "shareable." FULL EPISODE IS OUT NOW. Beyond his process of content creation, Vicky's take and outlook highlights the mindset (the learners' mindset that we so often refer to as an ideal) behind setting your heart and mind on a vision that builds itself as you evolve along the personal growth spectrum. Vicky, during his IT job days, asked himself: "Will you be able to keep doing this 10 years down the line?" The answer (we know what it was clearly) led him to where he is today. Have you asked yourself that recently? This is your cue. Do not forget to subscribe to the 'Attitude Makeover' channel if you haven't already! And drop what you liked most about the episode in the comments below, I'm reading them all!

Do you agree with the powerful words of Sunil? But here’s what we definitely SHOULD takeaway for society’s growth and our own mindsets: Financial independence is more than just numbers in a bank account. It’s a social revolution, a silent yet powerful force dismantling the patriarchal mindset brick by brick. It’s about choices freely made, dreams fearlessly pursued, and voices confidently raised. And this revolution, fueled by financial empowerment, echoes across the globe, from rural villages to bustling cities, paving the way for a future where women stand tall, equal, and free. Across the globe, in bustling cities and serene villages, the financial independence of women acts as a catalyst for personal growth, societal development, and most importantly, dismantling the entrenched structures of patriarchy. It’s not just about money; it’s about power, choice, and dismantling the deeply ingrained belief that women are any less capable of leading self-fulfillment lives. But on an interesting note: Do you think women would choose to not marry if the patriarchal mindset levels dropped considerably?
Moving from “knowing” to “doing” requires a fundamental shift in mindsets, where participation becomes the driving force. That’s what Sunil Jaglan stands as a testament to, as you shall discover along this conversation! Be it gender equity, women empowerment or rural development — Sunil, as a citizen, educator and activist, views it as the fundamentals of a change in thought. The thought that limits us as a society. Stepping up for social change requires more than just good intentions. It demands a fundamental shift in how we see ourselves and the world around us. In this process that is fittingly termed ‘revolutionary’ and inspiring, it’s important to note that: Beyond these individual shifts, systemic change often requires larger-scale strategies. Not all of us could be on the path of direct involvement by actions (by thought, we all should of course). I’ve learnt to indulge and consider supporting organisations working on the issue, advocating for policy changes, and amplifying the voices of those directly affected. Together, with mindful participation and a commitment to growth, we can create a world where social change isn’t just possible, but inevitable. Tune into the full episode now!
#SowjanyaSays The power of pivoting as a tool is most impactful in decision-making. Consider the relationship between the cost of a decision and the speed at which you can move forward. When the cost to quit or change a decision is low, it grants you the freedom to pivot more easily and swiftly. This agility is what could be of benefit for us, more so in moving towards fast evolving world. It’s about being flexible and responsive to the changing music of life’s circumstances. Keeping minimal disruption in mind, this approach encourages experimentation and learning from different outcomes, without being bogged down by the weight of heavy, irreversible choices. Embracing the power of pivoting can also highlight the understanding that not every choice is final, and that adaptability is a key ingredient in the journey towards success and personal growth. Which aspect of your life has seen most quick pivots and do you recognise a pattern in them?

Mentors have the ability to provide a map but what directions should they follow? The synergy between a mentor and their mentee cannot be overstated. The impact and influence of a mentor could alter the course of a journey. So the DON’TS that Akash mentions is has been a major takeaway for me. (Episode is available for all of you to tune in NOW) Mentors come in a multitude of ways. Preconceived notions in such contexts can lead a mentor to have unconscious biases and misinterpretations of the mentee’s actions, motivations, and abilities. Hence, listening and prioritising empathy are some thumb rules along the way. About mentorship and mutual responsibility, Akash believes a “mentor will happen” in various stages of our lives. He focuses on the importance of a mentor-mentee match highlighting his learnings on what to remember when seeking out a mentor or being one. Good mentors do not dictate the destination but help us navigate in a direction driven by passion, purpose and our values. What are top skills you want your mentor to have?
While we love some good, interesting trivia that Krish brings up, something he said struck a chord with me: On the personal growth journey, the statement “every new discovery is met with resistance” rings with unsettling truth. We embark on this path with dreams of self-improvement, envisioning a transformed version of ourselves basking in newfound fulfillment. Yet, reality throws a curveball in the form of resistance. It manifests in subtle ways: the voice in our head whispering “This is too hard,” the fear of stepping outside our comfort zone, the inertia of old habits clinging stubbornly. Growth often involves shedding old versions of ourselves, habits, and beliefs. This can feel like losing a part of who we are, triggering fear and clinging to the familiar. The good news is, resistance is not an insurmountable wall. With awareness and proactive strategies, we can navigate it to discover ourselves better. By acknowledging and overcoming resistance, we turn it into a stepping stone. What are your thoughts on resistance?
Hey there, it’s me again. You know, every day I share a tip of the day. It’s not advice. It’s my daily nudge, a small thought that stays with me, guiding my choices and actions. Today, for example, my nudge was about letting go. It made me pause, think, and honestly, it really helped. It’s just amazing how one little thought can have such a big impact on our day. The concept of a nudge was coined by a behavioral economist who went on to win the Nobel Prize, named Richard Thaler. I think it’s a beautiful concept. What small things keep you on track? Maybe it’s a quote, maybe a habit, or even a sticker on your bottle. Whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it. I’m curious about your nudges and would love to hear about it. A nudge, is any aspect of the choice architecture that alters our behaviour in a predictable way without forbidding any options or significantly changing our economic incentives. #decisionmaking #improvingdecisionmaking #choicesanddecisions #attitudemakeover #richardthaler
